Lochaber Childcare and Family Resource Partnership

What is our Strategy ?

Strategy August 2005 - August 2008

The Partnership is implementing a 3 year strategy for the Lochaber area. It covers 8 main themes

  • Childcare places
  • Services for children with additional support needs
  • Universal services providing activities for children and young people
  • Workforce development
  • Communications and infrastructure
  • Participation of Children, young people and their families
  • Family support
  • Supporting Children & young people to remain safe and well.

Each area of the Strategy has aims, objectives, what needs to be done, £ implications, timescales and which sub-group is leading on its implementation as well as where it links to the Highland Councils local outcome agreement targets for children's services. The link is particularly important for the Lochaber Area Children's Services Forum to monitor the progress made on supporting the development of local services which in particular support the most vulnerable children/families.

At every executive meeting up to 15 main priority points are reported on - these are chosen by the timescales in which they need to be progressed by. The Executive group recognises that there are times when priorities may change, outside factors that may cause delays etc - in these cases the strategy document is updated to reflect these changes.
