Role and Remit of the Executive Group
The Executive group of the partnership consisting of a maximum of 15 members (minimum 6) elected from a cross section of the full membership – meets on a quarterly basis every year and is responsible for implementing the Partnerships development strategy supported by the sub-groups.
The Executive also acts in an advisory capacity to the Local Authority on the distribution of Childcare strategy funding for the Lochaber area and administers the funding bid and allocation processes for these grant monies.
The Executive is a constituted body which attracts funding in its own right to support the implementation of the agreed local development strategy.
Audited accounts are maintained and administered by the Childcare and Family Resource officer and the treasurer of the Partnership.
The constitution forming the role and remit of the group states:
"The Partnership has a commitment to support Children and Families and to promote the retention, creation and expansion of quality, affordable and easily accessible childcare & Family support services by:"
- Bringing together the public, private and voluntary sectors in a spirit of co-operation and partnership, generating debate and seeking agreement on how needs can be met;
- Being directed by the diverse needs and aspiration of children and their parents at a local level;
- Being further directed by the local labour market and the needs of local employers;
- Recognising that the private and voluntary sectors have particular strengths and often give support to, and in turn are supported by parents, and;
- Providing a local advisory service and contact point for the Highland Family Resource Alliance
Further
- To advise on the Lochaber distribution of Childcare Strategy grant funding to the Local Authority.
- To develop effective communication processes and methods with its partners and the wider community.
- To provide a central point of contact for members of the public seeking advice and guidance of matters pertaining to childcare and family support services in the Lochaber area.
- To link in to and support the work of the Lochaber Area Children’s services Forum.
